1. Compound Identification
2. What Is Mod GRF 1-29?
Mod GRF 1-29 is a modified version of the GRF 1-29 fragment of GHRH, carrying four amino-acid substitutions that protect it from enzymatic breakdown. It is the same molecule that is sold as CJC-1295 without DAC. It carries CAS number 863288-34-0 and the molecular formula C152H252N44O42, with a molecular weight of 3367.9 g/mol.
Because Mod GRF 1-29 and CJC-1295 (no DAC) refer to the same compound, the two names are often used interchangeably in the research market. It is supplied as a lyophilized powder for laboratory reconstitution.
3. Research Background
Mod GRF 1-29 came out of the same mid-2000s GRF analog work that produced CJC-1295. A 2006 study by Teichman and colleagues in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism reported on the CJC-1295 family stimulating growth hormone and IGF-I in adults (PubMed 16352683).
A 2010 paper by Henninge and colleagues in Drug Testing and Analysis identified CJC-1295 in a pharmaceutical preparation (PubMed 21204297), and a 2021 review by Memdouh and colleagues in the same journal covered detection of GHRH analogs as a class (PubMed 34665524). Controlled efficacy data specific to the no-DAC form is limited.
4. Mechanism of Action
Mod GRF 1-29 works at the GHRH receptor on the pituitary, prompting pulses of growth hormone release. Its four substitutions resist the DPP-4 enzyme that quickly degrades natural GHRH, giving it a longer working window than sermorelin but a shorter one than CJC-1295 with DAC, which adds albumin binding.
Because the no-DAC form acts over a shorter window, it is often studied together with a ghrelin-receptor secretagogue such as ipamorelin. For current findings, search PubMed directly.
5. Storage and Stability
Lyophilized Mod GRF 1-29 is generally stored at -20°C for long-term holding, with stability reported around 24 months. Refrigeration at 2°C to 8°C suits shorter windows, away from light and moisture.
The lot-specific Certificate of Analysis is the authoritative reference for a given batch.
6. Handling and Solubility Notes (Laboratory Context)
Reconstitution means returning a lyophilized compound to solution. This page gives no preparation procedure: solvent, concentration and handling steps belong to the methodology of the study being reproduced, not to a compound reference. Mod GRF 1-29 is handled as aqueous-soluble material.
Lyophilized material is hygroscopic, so a sealed container is allowed to reach ambient temperature before it is opened. Solubility and water-content figures for a given lot appear on its Certificate of Analysis.
7. Quality Considerations for Research
Identity and purity of research-grade Mod GRF 1-29 are established analytically, by HPLC with mass spectrometric confirmation of the expected mass. Verified purity is documented per lot on the Certificate of Analysis. Because it is the same molecule as CJC-1295 no-DAC, the COA should make the naming clear.
Check HPLC purity, mass-spec identity, and net peptide content on the Certificate of Analysis. peptides.com publishes lot-specific lab reports for verification.
